Common types of New Year's Resolutions are losing weight, quit smoking and spending more time with family. It takes special skills and patience to stick with a new goal. Try not to give up and expect that you will make mistakes.

These resolutions are usually something that you want to do over the next year. It is very common for people to want to improve their health or relationships. These are great examples of things that you can do to make a positive changes in your life.

If you choose to lose weight then be sure to make your goal realistic. It should be a goal that you can achieve over the next year. Do not put too much pressure on yourself and try to break big goals into smaller ones.

Children and family come first for many people and they need goals. The holiday's are usually the perfect time to make a vow to change. Increasing quality time with the kids and family will be an excellent goal that anyone can achieve.

Smoking is one of the most common goals on New Year's Day. Millions of people will set their new years resolution to quit smoking. They want to be healthy and create a lasting change. But you'll almost certainly need help to quit this invasive habit.

If you make a mistake then just pick yourself up and try again. This will keep you motivated and happy with your results. Try to stay on task and do not put too much pressure on yourself. Stay positive and try to find others that have goals just like you.
